Action Sites, Childhood Places and Dates of the 18 Introductory Violent Acts in the Life of a Suburban Primate

© 2015 James LaFond Charles asked me to chart all of the sites I have been attacked in Baltimore and environs. This has led me to search my mind chronologically for acts of violence in which I have been involved, starting from my childhood in suburban Loch Raven Village, Hillendale and Baynesville, the very location I have returned to as a coach since 2009.

This self survey will be used to test my theory on the nature of violence as 40,000 Years from Home nears completion.

Childhood [“kid”]

1963: Crash-landed on the Planet of the Apes, Surrounded by You Savage Beasts…

1. 1969: Loch Raven and Putty Hill, three older white kids

3. 1969: Loch Raven and Putty Hill, one adult white woman, may her vagina rot

4. 1969: Loch Raven and Aberdeen, a mob of older white girls

5. 1970: Hillendale Rec Center, one older white kid

6. 1970: Hilendale Rec Center, one older white kid [same big bastard, again]

7. 1971: Hillendale Rec Center, two older Latino kids and a dog

8. 1971: unknown East Baltimore location, black child mob 9. 1972: Loch Ness, white kid

10. 1973: Pleasant Plains and Loch Ness, white youth

11. Loch Raven, older white kid

12. 1973: Loch Ness, white youth

13. 1973: Loch Ness, group of white men 14. 1974: Aberdeen, youth, older paper boy, an adult-sized polish youth of 16, chased me, took my papers, and raked my face on the fence in the back alley while he threatened me with more beatings if I kept delivering the opposing Newspaper [he was News American and I was the Sun, and in retrospect I think he had a valid point…]

15. 1974: Loch Raven and Aberdeen, one white youth, keeping his back alley promise as I called him a “big dumb Pollack” and tried to out run his big dumbass

unsuccessfully

16. 1974: West Point, New York, one white kid, two white youths set me up for a beating by getting me to defend my brother, who always beat me up himself pretty handily and had been doing well enough against this big fat kid

17. 1974: Cape May, New Jersey, one white youth, my cousin tried to drown me, unsuccessfully

18. 1974: Loch Ness, one white child, my first successful defense ever, against my brother who had previously beaten me up.

Of 18 Recalled Acts of Childhood Violence

18 of 18 were defender perspective

17 of 18 were successful aggressions

16 of 18 were same race

16 of 18 were same gender

3 of 18 were same-age, or horizontal—childto-child

15 of 18 were age-ranked or hierarchal— youth or adult or older child on child

0 were heretical—child attacks adult.

8 of 18 took place within one block of my home 6 of 18 took place at age-based activity centers

2 of 18 took place out state at informal mixed-age child-youth activities

3 of 18 involved weapons, a bat, apples and a small piece of statuary
